
On November 10, the China-Ireland Entrepreneurs Exchange Conference was successfully held at the HICOOL Industrial Park, surrounded by the vibrant autumn scenery. In this space that fosters innovation and collaboration, innovation institutions and enterprises from China and Ireland gathered to explore new opportunities for industrial cooperation.
Guests attending the event included Deng Xin, Director of the Shunyi District Investment Promotion Center, Du Yan, Deputy Director of the Shunyi District Talent Bureau, Yang Jie, Head of the Trade and Technology Bureau of Ireland’s Beijing Representative Office, Chen Wen, President of the Ireland-China Association for Science and Technology Exchange (ICASTE), and Wu Yi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Beijing Overseas High-Level Talent Association. Representatives from five Irish enterprises and institutions, including iQutech, PV Generation, Heet Pump, MaREI, and Huaxin Digital Intelligence (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., shared their practical experiences in frontier technology fields such as green energy, photovoltaics, data science, and circular economy, showcasing the vitality and cooperation potential between China and Ireland in the field of technological innovation.
During the event, HICOOL and ICASTE signed an Innovation Cooperation Memorandum, committing to further invest resources to promote exchanges between Chinese and Irish innovation enterprises and the development of the technology industry. This signing marks a deeper collaboration and will provide more comprehensive and professional support for enterprise exchanges, development, and cooperation between the two countries.
The Irish entrepreneurs’ delegation also visited the ICASTE (Beijing HICOOL) Enterprise Service Center located in the second phase of the HICOOL Industrial Park. They highly praised the park’s comfortable office environment and convenient access to the airport.
HICOOL Industrial Park is located in Shunyi District, just a 20-minute drive from Beijing Capital International Airport, and is the core area of “Haichuang City.” The park is dedicated to attracting entrepreneurial projects from both China and abroad, promoting the transformation of innovative achievements, and providing full life-cycle services to enterprises, aiming to become an ideal place for global entrepreneurs.

Yang Jie, Head of the Trade and Technology Bureau of Ireland’s Beijing Representative Office, gave a detailed introduction to the work of the Bureau and the industrial characteristics of Ireland. Located on the west coast of Europe, Ireland, the “Emerald Isle,” has advantages in sectors such as information technology, agricultural technology, medical technology, new energy, and food production. China is Ireland’s sixth-largest global market for exports, and the two countries have carried out extensive cooperation in these fields. The Trade and Technology Bureau of Ireland is responsible for promoting the development and growth of Irish enterprises globally and helps enterprises move from startup to maturity through investments and collaborations in innovation.
Yang Jie stated that the Trade and Technology Bureau of Ireland not only helps Irish enterprises enter the Chinese market but also assists Chinese enterprises in investing and setting up factories in Ireland. In the medical technology field, Ireland is home to one of the top five global medical technology centers and has the highest proportion of medical practitioners in Europe. With the support and assistance of the Bureau, Aerogen and Novaerus’ nebulized drug delivery technology and infection control solutions have successfully entered the domestic market, meeting the needs of China’s medical and healthcare sector. The Bureau has also helped two Chinese companies, one in Shanghai and the other in Hunan, establish production bases in Ireland, promoting exchanges between the two countries in food technology.
Yang Jie expressed his hope for further cooperation with HICOOL to promote exchanges and cooperation between innovation enterprises from the two countries.
Chen Wen, President of ICASTE, reviewed the fruitful progress of cooperation between ICASTE and HICOOL. He introduced that the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurship Competition has a global impact, with new Irish tech companies having participated through ICASTE and won awards. With the signing of this Innovation Cooperation Memorandum, he expects more high-tech Irish companies to come to Beijing.
Wu Yi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Beijing Overseas High-Level Talent Association, stated that ICASTE and HICOOL have developed a deep friendship over the past four years. HICOOL will leverage its advantages to assist the development of new technology enterprises from both sides, and he looks forward to this platform becoming a new bridge and link for China-Ireland technology innovation cooperation, bringing more opportunities for enterprises from both countries.
This event brought together technology elites from both China and Ireland, who jointly witnessed and discussed new opportunities for scientific innovation cooperation.
